Senses touch through any non-conductive material like glass, plexiglass, tile, wood, plastic, drywall, etc.
Sensitivity of the Touch Sense circuitry is adjustable to support a wide range of overlay materials and thicknesses - up to 1" thick or more
Create your own custom touch sense plates using any conductive material such as copper tape, copper clad board, or even some random small metal objects.
On-board beeper and LED provides audible and visual feedback when touch is detected, plus 8 LEDs to display the state of the switch circuits
Terminal blocks provided on PCB to easily connect touch sense and switch circuits
Applications:
- Any application that calls for pushbuttons or toggle switches
- Invisible switches - hidden behind any non-conductive surface like tile, wood, drywall, etc.
- Replacement of mechanical pushbutton or toggle switches with reliable solid state Capacitive Touch switches
- Retrofit existing devices with touch sense controls
- Capacitive Proximity switch - sensitivity can be set high enough to detect the nearby presence of a person, animal, or any other object containing trace amounts of moisture.
- Moisture sensor switch - this circuit can detect the presence of moisture nearby (within 1/2") without having to come in direct contact with the moisture itself. It can remotely - capacitively - detect moisture and close a switch circuit when detected.
Kit includes two PCBs: the main controller (3"x1.9"), which plugs onto the terminal block board, which contains the opto-isolators, indicator LEDs and terminal blocks for connection to the touch-sense pads and switched circuits(3"x3.8")
This is an intermediate electronic kit containing 64 components, a 9V AC adaptor and 2 PCB's, and will require about 2-3 hours to assemble
